Yoga teaching – 2007 – Present

While I have long been an athlete, my introduction to yoga for exercise came from my two youngest children. I developed back pain by carrying both of them and sought relief by studying yoga with Kara. Since beginning yoga, I feel better both physically and mentally. Yoga has helped me be a better wife, mother and friend – in short it has opened my life. As a result, one of my goals is to attend teacher training and teach using the Anusara® method. To work towards this goal, I have begun by attending workshops with Desiree Rumbaugh and Todd Norian whenever my schedule allows.

I am an accountant by trade and worked as a CPA for the first seven years of my career. Since then, I have shifted the focus of my career to community development. My deep appreciation for music led me to work as the Entertainment Director for Goshen’s First Fridays program. I organize the free, monthly, concert-series which takes place downtown throughout the year. Additionally, I serve on multiple boards including Goshen Youth Soccer Organization, CCYC, and serve as the treasurer for the Waterford Parent Teacher Organization.

Originally from the Fort Wayne area, I have been living in Goshen since 1996. I am married and have a large extended family with five children. Studying yoga and spending time with friends developed at Spacious Heart yoga provides space to focus on much-needed self-care. I look forward to continuing to learn more about Anusara® Yoga and sharing this with other students.
